Pick the UC-200 water filter if you have standard city tap water, and do not want to have to replace your filter. The UC-200 water purifier also has the best flow rate, 1.5 gallons per minute (gpm), instead of 1.0 gpm for the other under counter models. Pick the UC-101 water filter if you don’t mind replacing the filter, and want to spend less up front. If you want to filter out Fluoride, or Nitrates, pick one of the UC-2K Models.

The Nitrate Water Filter is an ideal filter to deal with nitrates in your water. This is typically used in rural areas where ground water is contaminated by fertilizers. A proper water test should be conducted to find out if nitrates are a problem for you.
The Fluoride Water Filter takes care of that toxic substance that is added to many municipal water systems - Fluoride. This substance was banned years ago as a pesticide because it was too toxic, but it is still being added to many municipal water systems.
Note: Fluoride is a large molecule, and does not need to be filtered out of your bathing or showering water, but in our opinion, anyone with municipal fluoridated water should be using a water filter on their kitchen tap for removing the fluoride from their drinking and cooking water.

The Undercounter, Countertop and Whole house CuZn® copper-zinc (KDF) water filters we sell here at EcoViva are combined with large amounts of coconut shell carbon and are a very effective filtering media. Other countries in Europe, for example, have stopped fluoridating their water because they decided, based on the evidence, that this was not a good idea!
